Will SEO Exist in 5 Years?

SEO will almost certainly still exist in five years, though the term will likely cover more ground than it does today. It has already survived multiple predicted deaths, mobile search, voice search, social search, without disappearing.

What tends to happen instead is expansion. Each new search behavior gets folded into the same underlying discipline, optimizing content to be found, trusted, and surfaced by whatever system people are using to search.

The five year outlook most practitioners agree on is more channels to manage, Google, AI chat tools, and whatever comes next, rather than one replacing the others entirely.
